Nina McLemore
Nina McLemore is the founder and CEO of Nina McLemore, Inc. The company designs and sells designer women’s apparel focused on executive women and “community professionals” who want clothes that have style, are appropriate for their lifestyle, high quality, in vibrant colors with a great fit. The collection is made with the finest European fabrics in cotton, Merino wool, and linen as well as fine silks from home furnishings mills in India. All manufacturing is done in New York City.
The collection is sold in 3 Nina McLemore stores, the internet, direct to women through independent sales consultants, and exclusive better specialty stores. The Nina McLemore stores are in New York, Chevy Chase MD, Atlanta.
Nina is from Mississippi and grew up making, with her Mother, everything she wore. They only used Vogue Designer patterns and natural fabrics, no synthetics. Nina started her career as a buyer for the better department store in New Orleans and then moved to New York to become VP GMM for May Department Stores International.
Nina founded Liz Claiborne Accessories and served on the Executive Committee of Liz Claiborne, Inc. She also co-founded Regent Capital, a private equity firm. Nina served as Chair of the Center for Women’s Business Research and Fashion Group International. She is a Founding Member of the Committee of 200 and Women Corporate Directors and is a member of the International Women’s Forum, World President’s Organization, Women Presidents Organization and Paradigm for Parity. She works on many projects to create economic independence for women.
Nina has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Business Week, Bloomberg News, NBC NOW, and Inside Edition. She speaks frequently on Unconscious Bias and the Importance of Image, Women and Philanthropy, and Renaissance Textiles and Globalization. Nina hosts lectures by her clients on current topics and their recent books. Many are available on YouTube.
The company donates part of the proceeds from many of our shows to non-profits and to date has donated approximately $2 million to charities.
Nina graduated from Louisiana State University and earned her MBA at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Nina lives in Washington, DC with her husband.
